OVERVIEW
From need
to outcome.
DepremdenSonra.com was developed after the earthquake to bring requests for help and field information together on a shared map. Under crisis conditions, the priority was access to essential information rather than a long feature list.
Give scattered information a shared context
Records arriving through different channels become difficult to understand alongside their locations. Separate searches for the same information can slow coordination.
A map-centred first release
Within the first 48 hours, we built a web platform focused on a live debris map and aid coordination. The location-based approach aimed to make records understandable in their geographical context rather than only as a list.
- Bring field needs and location information together.
- Show records in a shared map view.
- Make information accessible to support coordination.
Simplicity was a design decision
The project represents our experience of delivering a small, useful first release under pressure. A map entry does not by itself establish verified field information; the platform supports access and coordination rather than replacing decisions by authorised response teams.
